Color Mixing Lab

What is this?

The Color Mixing Lab is an interactive experiment in additive color mixing. Click the color buttons to add pigments to the mixing bowl and watch the colors blend in real time.

How to use it

1. Click any color button to add it to the mix
2. Watch the bowl change color as pigments blend
3. Hit Reset to start fresh
4. Try to make specific colors — can you make brown? Purple? A perfect orange?

The science

This uses subtractive color mixing (like paint, not light). Red + yellow = orange. Blue + yellow = green. Red + blue = purple. And when you mix everything together... you get a muddy brown. Just like real life.

Why we built it

Day one of the lab. We wanted the first build to be something anyone could enjoy — a five-year-old mixing colors or an adult rediscovering color theory. Simple, tactile, satisfying.
